Training

A variety of training workshops have been developed based on the experience of many years as a leading wildlife rescuer and with input from recognised wildlife specialists. Having delivered rescue training for over 15 years, the workshops have become the main body of rescue training that is available in Victoria and which is widely regarded as the industry standard. Audiences have included:

  • New rescue volunteers
  • Representatives from Victoria Police
  • RSPCA Inspectors, Rangers
  • Veterinarians 
  • DELWP and Parks fire staff

Training has been delivered to Industry groups such as construction site employees to address wildlife issues that may be encountered on development sites. Presentations have also been provided interstate at a number of National Wildlife conferences

Current programmes include:

  • General Wildlife Rescue Techniques
  • Fireground Rescue
  • Advanced Kangaroo Rescue 

Presentation material can be customized to suit a particular audience or regional requirement or to address works procedures detailed within Environmental Management Plans.

Presenters qualifications include a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and all presentation equipment and printed rescue manuals can be provided. Group sizes can be as small as 6 or hundreds.
